JAN WILLEM: 'The purple from the house in Haarlem, from the advice of 15 years ago, must return.'

Esther and Jan Willem live in the beautiful, peaceful Zoelmond. In this river landscape, where the colors change every second of the day, time stands still a little.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, they are home a lot and decide that they want to do something about their house.
My enthusiasm for colors reminded them of the purple wall we had 'conceived' in their previous house in Haarlem. That purple wall was the result of two different wishes: Esther wanted a red wall and Jan Willem a light blue wall. My purple design exceeded their own expectations!

They now agree on one thing: the purple wall from Haarlem must return. Furthermore, Esther would like olive green and an authentic, warm atmosphere, while Jan Willem wants blue tones—warm, but also sleek and functional. So I started testing, feeling, and looking, and eventually I presented my design to them on a mood board: warmth and comfort in warm, solid, loving colors like purple, warm moss green, and autumn brown that wrap around you like a blanket. And blue-green tones in the multifunctional outbuilding.
Thanks to the colors alone, the thermostat can be turned down 2 degrees in the winter! In the summer, the light reflects beautifully, and the colors can actually have a cooling effect. Jan Willem and Esther are happy again!
